The steering wheel angle sensor is a position sensor that senses the angular movement of the steering wheel to a fairly large extent. It stands on the steering column between the steering wheel and the switch, in some cases on the control unit.

Based on the functional needs of a particular vehicle, such a sensor can detect a number of parameters:

     Relative angle of rotation
     Direction of rotation
     Angular velocity mode

This data helps to know the direction in which the vehicle is moving. The received information comes to the control unit, which transmits it in various systems. Thanks to it, the system of adaptive lighting, cruise control, of course the stability system, the active suspension holder of the electromechanical power steering and many others work properly.
